Dominique’s Auctions Limited (hereinafter as “DAL”) carries on business under the following conditions formulated in accordance with laws, rules and regulations of Hong Kong Special Administration Region (HKSAR), and general practice of this trade. Buyers and Sellers are requested to read carefully and to abide by the following Conditions and be responsible for their actions.

Bidding in the auction hall
The Auction Catalog and Shows
DAL prepares catalogs well in advance of each sale identifying each lot with respective description and other details for identification purposes, which is subject to revision prior to the actual sale. While DAL used its best endeavor to ensure the catalog description are accurate but all representation as to the authorship, origin, date, age, size, medium, attribution, market value, authenticity, provenance, condition and estimate selling price is a statement of opinion only.

Any statement or representation made by staff or agent regarding any lot offered for sale does not constitute as a guarantee for the item.

All lots are available for inspection prior to the sale and intended purchaser deemed to have examined each lot to his or her satisfaction, and act responsibly during the sale.

Conditions for Buyers
All intended buyers must register in person prior to the auction presenting required identification to be eligible as a bidder for that particular sale. All buyers deem to be principle unless a written acknowledgement has been presented to DAL prior to registration.

The buyer is the highest bidder for a lot and any dispute shall be settled at the absolute discretion of the auctioneer.

If the intended buyer is unable to attend the auction in person, DAL can bid on your behalf based on a written instruction prior to the sale as a service provided but not to be held responsible if an error occur. DAL will execute the earliest received commission bid if two or more bid of the same amount had been received for the same lot. The bidding will be executed in strictest confidence on your behalf to secure the item at the lowest price possible and never lower than the limit.

All items in the auction are subject to a reserve price (if any) and the auctioneer could rightfully bid up the reserved price.

  1. Commission Bids (DAL has the right to revise the commission rate for Live Auction and Online Bidding)
    A premium of 15% will be added to the hammer price HKD1,000,000 or below, or 13% will be added to hammer price more than HKD1,000,000 on all item sold by DAL as the purchase price.


  2. Removal of Purchases
    All purchasers are required to settle the total purchase price and premium within seven (7) days after the sale and arrange the removal of the property from our premises. All payment by cheques must be cleared before the release of the property. If the buyer removes the property after 7 days, the risks shall be borne entirely by the buyer.


  3. Payment
    For successful buyers, we will accept Credit Card, cheques, bank draft and telegraphic-transfer only. Our bank details are as follows:

Bidder’s Guide

  1. New to bid
    Register to bid

    Step 1:

    To bid, you must register with www.dominiquesauctions.com.
    You require to fill in your personal details, including your full name, username, password, address, etc.
    Click “Preview” to check your personal details are correct.
    (All your information will be kept as confidential with Dominique’s Auctions Limited.)
    Step 2: Once you have registered, search or browse for any item you want.
    Step 3: When you find something you want, click “Bidding History” to see the bidding details about the lot.
    Step 4: If you want to bid for the lot, just simply key in the amount that you are willing to bid, and then click “Bid Now”
    Step 5: Or you can click “Buy it now” to buy the lot directly.
    Step 6: Enter your username and password to confirm your member identity and then choose your payment method. Bidding is now complete.

    Dominique’s Auctions Limited will charge the successful bidder a 15% of the Hammer Price as a premium.


  2. Delivery / shipped
    After the auction, we will notify you by email the Total Amount Due for your successful lot. Besides, we will also ask you to provide your shipping address.

    For successful local bidders, we will offer you a delivery service. But the bidder should pay the shipping fee. If possible, we would like you to collect the lot in person.

    For successful overseas bidders, both shipping costs and insurance will be charged. Once we knew your location and your preferred shipping method. We will quote total expenses for you via email. Please be noted that large items for special packaging and the delivery location may take slightly longer.

  3. Payment
    For successful local and overseas bidders, we will accept Credit Card, PayPal and telegraphic-transfer only. Our bank details are as follows:

Conditions for Consignor
The consignor to DAL, either as the owner or the agent for a third party must warrant that he or she has undisputed ownership / authority over the property. DAL has absolute discretion on the following matters

a) whether a lot is suitable for sale, and the sale date, place and conditions of sale.
b) represent and illustrate the item in the catalog and other media
c) obtain expert opinion or perform scientific dating tests at the owners' expense without prior notice to the owner.
d) recover the illustration expense from the owner for offering an item for sale.
e) rightfully withdraw any item prior to the sale
  1. Valuation
    You can choose one of the followings:
    1) Bring the item to our office for our free appraisal service

  2. Commission (DAL has the right to revise the commission rate for Live Auction and Online Bidding)
    While serving as the agent for the consignor, DAL will deduct commission from the proceeding at predetermined rate if sold. A commission of 15% will be charged for the hammer price, and with the following in advanced charges (non-refundable):

    • HK$3,000/ HK$5,000 (depends on the value of product) , the fees includes marketing and promotion, and storage within 6 months
    • Insurance should be additional charged

    All lots will be offered subject to a reserve agreed in confidentiality between DAL and the consignor in writing and can not be altered without agreement by both parties. The consignor will not be allowed to bid on his own property.

  3. Delivery
    Please deliver your item to DAL one month before the forthcoming auction.


  4. Withdrawn Lot
    You can withdraw the lot anytime, but you should pay a 5% of the reserve price for each lot to DAL as a handling charge, together with other expense like insurance and printing as well as charges for illustration and advertising (if any).


  5. Payment
    The consignor will receive the fee for the sale 35 days after the auction subject to payment has been received from the buyer.


  6. What is not Sold?
    The consignor must make arrangements to remove unsold items from our premise fourteen (14) days after the auction. The Consignor will be informed through email.

  2. Commission
    There will be a commission at the rate of 15% of the Successful Bid Price per lot. If 15% of the successful Bid Price is lower than HKD1,000, the commission will be HKD1,000.


  3. Delivery
    Please deliver your item to DAL one month before the forthcoming auction.


  4. Withdrawn Lot
    You can withdraw the lot anytime, you should pay a 2% of the reserve price for each lot to DAL as the insurance fee. But if, the printing, illustration and advertising are involved, you should pay a 5% of the reserve price for each lot to DAL as a handling charge, together with other expense like insurance.


  5. Payment
    We will email the Sale Proceeds and payment to you within 35 days of the date of the Online Auction after we received the payment by the buyer.


  6. What if not Sold?
    The consignor must make arrangements to remove unsold items from our premise fourteen (14) days after the auction. The Consignor should pay DAL an unsold insurance charge at the rate of 2% of the lower Estimated Price per lot.

    In respect of any unsold lot for the Online Auction, we will notify you by email. You should make arrangements either to re-offer the lot for sale or to collect the lot and pay the charges.
